I found these sources by googling "worm farm"

Prices seem to average about $20-25 per pound of redworms (eisenia foetida). There are about 1,000 (bedrun) worms in a pound. Redworms seem to be best for composting organic material. A pound of redworms can eat (turn to castings) between 1/2 - 1 lb per day. One site says 2 lbs of worms can make 250 lbs of castings/year.

Blue belly farms (in California) was recommended on a wormdigest forum. Website has a design for a worm bin at http://bluebellyfarm.com/wormbin.htm , and good "how to" at http://bluebellyfarm.com/wormbin-inst.htm

Another good source of vermiculture information is http://www.wormdigest.org. Signup is free.
