Robert L. Crosby, Jr. |
Mr. Crosby has over thirty years of experience in A/E design, energy management or related field. Primary area of involvement has been in HVAC and plumbing design, with increasing emphasis on scientific research and development. He has a particular interest in the development of appropriate technologies and has gained some recognition in this area. In 1984, he founded Biorealis Systems, Inc, a professional corporation providing ecological engineering design and consulting services, and research and development of small scale appropriate technologies. |
Since 1975, Mr. Crosby has acted as principal mechanical designer on over 300 projects located throughout Alaska, both urban and rural. Successfully completed projects include single- and multi-family housing, retail space, office buildings, maintenance & repair facilities, schools, churches, senior citizen centers, an 86-room hotel, restaurant/bar facilities, a fish hatchery, a solid waste transfer facility, village clinics/washeterias, a passive environmental community freezer, a controlled environment growth chamber, a prototype village waste separator, a prototype experimental methane digester. He also designed, built, and currently lives in an award-winning 3,500 sq. ft. bioshelter which serves as a live-in laboratory for development and testing of alternative waste treatment, and energy related products.
