Increasing Biogas yield using trade wastes

Post by upstart » Thu Jul 06, 2006 2:28 am

Hi Bob,
I am currently doing a project here in the UK, i am going to investigate importing trade wastes to boost biogas yield for CHP. I was wondering if you could give some pointers as to which wastes would increase yield without having any further implications on engine reliability ( presence of siloxanes) and sludge disposal routes (agricultural recycling)
Thanks in avance.

Hi upstart,

Sorry, no. What kinds of trade wastes do you have available?

The best I could suggest would be to search the literature for others who may have tested those particular wastes -- and then, if nothing found, do your own lab-scale batch tests on them. (This may be something I could help with...)

Bob,
Thanks for replying, As yet i'm not quite sure as i still have research to conduct although i think i'm initially going to look at dairy and brewery waste with high BOD/ COD.

I will get back when i have more information. its good to know your here.

Cheers.
