Hi everybody
I wish to discuss the persistent problem of presence of plastics and metals in a biogas facility based on animal waste. Despite the provision of screens, the small plastic and metallic objects are able to pass through to the macerator and damage it frequently.
Please suggest me some alternate measure to separate the unwanted objects from the slurry to prevent the damage to macerators and pumps.

What is the source -- and size -- of these foreign objects?
And how fine are the screens? Would it be possible to reduce the opening size of the screens, and to press the slurry through them?
Though not quite the same thing, I was involved with a possibly relevant project a number of years ago, but the foreign materials to be removed were somewhat larger. Here is a description and a picture of the finished product:
