Horizontal versus vertical
Post

Hi gang,
The digester designs I've seen in Home Power magazine picture a horizontal sausage-like arrangement... feedstock flows into the digester from one end, and effluent exits the tube from the other end.
Is there a reason why a vertical digester like the one pictured on Bob's site would be preferable?
Thanks,
Farmer

Space available? The horizontal layout requires more.
I think Aguilar's design is about as simple and inexpensive as can be done. It looks like it is particularly well-suited to places where (1) the climate is warm (i.e. tropics) and (2) where labor is cheap.
